Gefyri beach is one of the coves of Sarantaris or as they are often called Limanakia and it is located close to the harbour of Hersonissos and 26 km east of Heraklion.

There are umbrellas and sunbeds along some of the Limanakia coves, however if you would like to stay in the shade at no cost, there is natural shade from the rock along the beach.

Dia Island – Bali – Panagia – Pantanassa – Sunset

Dia island, Bali also pronounced locally Ntia, is an uninhabited island off the northern coast of the Greek island of Crete. The island is 5 km long, 3 km wide and is located approximately 7 nautical miles north of Heraklion. Administratively, Dia is part of the community of Elia within the municipal unit of Gouves, Hersonissos municipality in Heraklion.

In the south coast of Dia there are four coves, which are (from west to east) Agios Georgios, Kapari, Panagia (Madonna) and Agrielia. One more cove, that of Aginara, is to the east.

Mononaftis – Agia Pelagia – Ligaria – Paliokastro

Mononaftis is a beautiful pebbly beach, located 24km northwest of Heraklion and just 1km north of Agia Pelagia. According to the tradition, a ship was sunk here once and only one sailor survived. This story gave the name Mononaftis to the beach, which means “One sailor”. However, Mononaftis is the boulder floating some 50m off the coast.
